America is experiencing its first female recession. Women have lost jobs at a faster clip than men for the first time in history, and many parents are considering exiting the workforce altogether as child care challenges continue into the fall.

Other workers are questioning whether to return to work and risk infection and some laid-off employees are waiting to hear back from employers about whether their layoff will be temporary or permanent.
