In our ongoing series 19 Minutes with The 19th, we want to give you, our audience, the opportunity to ask our reporters questions about their work and the issues facing communities across the country.
Last month I talked to our LGBTQ+ reporter, Kate Sosin, about the intersection of politics, policy and the LGBTQ+ community. On Election Day, I spoke with Errin Haines, our editor-at-large, about some of the issues important to The 19th and expectations for the day (the results of which continue to come in across the nation).
A new, live episode will premiere on Friday, November 6 at 5 p.m. CT. We’ll talk to our editor in chief, Andrea Valdez, who has been leading a diverse team of journalists who live in nine different states across the country. Valdez will talk about what it’s been like to work as The 19th’s editor during Election 2020 – our newsroom’s very first election season.
After launching just three months ago, The 19th has been closely covering this consequential election and what’s at stake for women and those who have been historically underserved and underrepresented in our democracy. Valdez will give our 19th community insight into what they can expect from our newsroom in the days after Election 2020 and beyond.
