In our earliest days, we dreamed of a five-city listening tour and an in-person summit to introduce The 19th to the nation. The pandemic scuttled our original events plans — but also led us to reach even more people through virtual programming. To date, more than a quarter million viewers have tuned into conversations on gender, politics and policy through our virtual event series.
As we look to the future — and getting back out on the road — we are thrilled to introduce Faith Smith, who joins The 19th as our first Senior Director of Events on April 19.
Faith brings a decade of events experience to the role, most recently as Executive Producer of Slate Live, where she led the online magazine’s national and international live programming, from podcasts to conferences and events. Before Slate, Faith managed events, partnerships and digital media for the New America Foundation; she has also helped lead the Future Tense initiative since 2010. Faith is a graduate of UCLA and lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and two sons.
We are thrilled to have Faith picking up the baton on The 19th Live and 19th Represents, where she’ll work to bring our readers into conversation with elected officials, policy makers, thought leaders and other members of The 19th community. Say hello to her on Twitter @TheFaithSmith.
