Paving a Path to the Top | 4:40 p.m. ET

Scientists who are women, people of color or part of the LGBTQ+ community have had to face significant obstacles to succeed in their fields. And for those who do reach the top, it is exceptionally rare to receive recognition: in fact, only 58 of the more than 900 Nobel Prize laureates have been women. We’re talking to a biochemist who is one of them, along with the head of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, about the barriers they’ve encountered and overcome to succeed in their careers — as well as how to pave the way for the next generation.
